Journey to Light: "Meditation for the Soul" is a personal journey into the relationship between self and spirit. The soul in physical expression is experiencing the duality of self (personality) and spirit (relationship with the divine). It is through meditation and living in awareness with who we really are that we heal, love, and live the lives we deserve. Journey to Light takes you through meditations that guide you to understand the language of the soul. Teaching you how to quiet the mind, heal the heart ,and live intuitively. Often we do not feel we have the time to meditate. The journeys will be a simple way to incorporate meditation into your daily life or enhance the meditation practice you already have. The self-discipline that you will acquire will affect all areas of your life. In meditation you unite mind, heart, body, and spirit. In this moment you are nurturing the relationship between self and spirit. You will learn they are not separate but one. You will heal, love, and live a life of greater purpose, joy, and abundance. This is your divine right. You will carry this energy as a positive light for yourself as well as those around you. There are many ways to use journey-to-light meditations, so I encourage you to try them all. The time commitment is minimal; the benefits last a lifetime. Give your self, spirit, family, and friends the gift of love, light, and healing by living in higher awareness of who you are. Journey to your light, heal your heart, and free your soul. 1. Everything you have to know to start working with Wiccan ritual practice, crystals, and candle magicWicca is often thought of as a loosely structured or even completely unstructured spiritual tradition, and for many people who were raised in more formal organized religions, this is definitely part of the draw. However, there is a core feature of Wicca that aims to bring people together around a collective focus: the Wiccan rituals.Wicca still shares one significant element with various other religions around the globe: the use of an altar with sacred objects to honor and communicate with the divine. Altar is the central physical focus for Wiccan spiritual activities; in fact it hosts the rituals for Sabat end Esbat, or a milestone such as a handfasting (wedding), initiation, or an end-of-life ceremony. Whatever the occasion might be, members will gather to worship together, honor the Goddess and God, and celebrate the miracle to be found on the ongoing cycles of life.Practice your ownIt might seem that there is a huge quantity of things you need to practice in Wicca, but that’s not it. In her critically-acclaimed Leaving Church ("a beautiful, absorbing memoir," said the Dallas Morning News), Barbara Brown Taylor wrote about leaving full-time ministry to become a professor, a decision that stretched the boundaries of her faith. Now, in her stunning follow-up, An Altar in the World, she shares how she learned to encounter God beyond the walls of any church. From simple practices such as walking, working, and getting lost to deep meditations on topics like prayer and pronouncing blessings, Taylor reveals concrete ways to discover the sacred in the small things we do and see. Something as ordinary as hanging clothes on a clothesline becomes an act of devotion if we pay attention to what we are doing and take time to attend to the sights, smells, and sounds around us. Making eye contact with the cashier at the grocery store becomes a moment of true human connection. Allowing yourself to get lost leads to new discoveries. Under Taylor's expert guidance, we come to question conventional distinctions between the sacred and the secular, learning that no physical act is too earthbound or too humble to become a path to the divine. As we incorporate these practices into our daily lives, we begin to discover altars everywhere we go, in nearly everything we do. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Barbara Brown Taylor. Here I will show that Dante Alighieri did not just limited himself to know and incorporate some concepts of it (for example, "divine wisdom", "mystical union", "divine will") on his works, but he did also interact with intellectual circles interested in Neoplatonism, Maimonides' ideas,Abraham Abulafia's teachings and Jewish mysticism too. Such interactions took place in Bologna and in Verona where the aforementioned ideas and the Ecstatic Kabbalah were discussed with great interest from both Christians and Jews. Thus, a demonstration of how Middle Age meant even cultural confrontations between these two religions.
The classical understanding of creation out of nothing has traditionally held that God's creation of the universe had to involve a moment of temporal initiation. However, in attempting to understand the essence of creation by appealing solely to the distinction between the ontological necessity of the Creator and the ontological contingency of the created, many philosophers and theologians have contributed to the eclipse of this feature of the classical notion. This book examines the primacy and sufficiency of that distinction. Finding this distinction, by itself, to be injurious to the classically conceived Judeo-Christian God, it argues that the concept of creation out of nothing must also incorporate the idea of temporal initiation. Therefore, an investigation into the question of the eternity of the world is paramount to its success. Following historical and systematic examinations of this question, it concludes with a meditative reflection that attempts to ground a method for clarifying divine creation in subjective experience, rather than in objective theory, due to the irreconcilable incongruities that seem to result from the purely rational approach.
